Brunch

I'm forever in search of good brunch places in Rome. Problem is, brunch in this city is pretttty pricey so in order to make it worth the money, the food needs to be good! Some recent finds:

The Perfect Bun- Very good! Authentic American brunch plus lots of other options. They even had an omelet bar and lots of desserts (the cupcakes were disappointing though). All you can eat buffet + unlimited American coffee for 25 euro.

Sweety Rome- Via Milano #48. This place isn't as authentic but was still very nice. All sorts of food (pancakes were the only American fare), including a kick-ass carrot cake, tasty cupcakes, key lime pie, and cream cheese brownies. All you can eat buffet + one coffee + dessert for 15 euro.

I have to try this Sweety Rome place for the sweets. Another expat also said the cupcakes were very good.

You should come to our place (The Beehive) for brunch - it's served every Sunday from 7:30-1, organic and veggie. By the way, had been wanting to send you a photo of the storefront, but couldn't find your e-mail on your blog. I made a pilgrimage to your favorite wallet shop the last time I was in Lucca! :)

NYC- the cupcakes are totally worth the trip!

Lomalinda- NICE! I will make a note of that and check it out ASAP. You saw the Mywalit headquarters!! Did you love the wallets too? Fantastic.

Romerican, if you do make it to our cafe for brunch, please send me your feedback at linda@the-beehive.com - I'd really appreciate it. We work on a "no fixed portion sizes", "no fixed prices" system so you may want to read more about it when you get there - the info is on the tables or under the cafe section of our website. I was so annoyed because I had just bought a wallet before heading to Lucca. If I had known they had a shop there, I would have waited. However, this place in Rome also has some very nice bags and wallets, although I have to admit I like the Mywalit wallets better - Fuoco Aria Acqua http://www.fuocoariaacqua.com

Lomalinda- I certainly will! THANKS so much for the Fuoco Aria Acqua suggestion. I had some guests this weekend and took them to the store and naturally, they LOVED it!

OOOOOOOOOooooo. I'm jealous of these little American treats that expats in the bigger cities can get! How many Sundays I have woken up in Venice and wanted to go out for a nice, lazy brunch! How fun!
